Of the roughly 8000 km of inland waterways in France, more than 1200 are in Burgundy alone. It is here, the important hub in North-South and East-West traffic since time immemorial, that the waterways cross one another en route to the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea or the Black Sea. The diversity of these waterways and the various landscapes they cut through combine to form a real paradise for “hobby captains”, one that permits them to cruise in any direction they desire.
